A QUALIFYING ROUND OF: Promoted by Rhyl & District Motor Club, the OSG Rally Car Hire Rali Gogledd Cymru is proud to be a round of the Regional Rally Championships. ANWCC ROAD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP SBARDUN NORTH WALES ROAD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP SD34 ROAD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP GLYNNE EDWARDS MEMORIAL CHAMPIONSHIP
COMPETITOR TESTMONIALS Comments received on the 2018 Rali Gogledd Cymru On behalf of Gavin and myself, our sincerest thanks go to Rhyl and District Motor Club for a proper, no nonsense, thoroughly enjoyable road rally. You were well aware that you had a job on your hands, to deliver an all-tarmac event that would restore the reputation of a rally I’ve always enjoyed competing on, but in the present climate of more restrictive tyre regulations and ever-decreasing disposable income, suffered for it’s use of gravel tracks. Simply put, if you don’t fill 75 places next time this rally runs, there’s no justice in this sport. To any competitors reading this, if you’re in any doubt as to whether you should enter the Gogledd, don’t even think twice. Get yourself to St Asaph, support this fine motor club and their excellent rally. I admit I had my reservations before the event, but by breakfast on Sunday morning, I had no doubts. Paul, Michelle and team, thank you once again, and I can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for us next time – you can count on our entry, and I’d be saying that regardless of whether we finished 1st or last. Michael Gilbey, Navigator - Car 5, Ford Escort – 1st Overall Thank you all good event can't wait to do another. Mike Webber, Driver - Car 22, BMW Compact - 9th Overall What a superb breakfast to top off a brilliantly well thought out route and fantastic rally. Thanks to all involved. Barry Jones, Navigator - Car 27 - Ford Escort MkII - 30th Overall Your Rally was brilliant....Such a refreshing change to do a competitive event and not have a whole car to rebuild after it....Loved every minute!! Stu Kelso, Driver - Car 14, VW Golf GTi - 8th Overall Many thanks to the organisers and marshals, fantastic event. Mark Morris, Driver - Car 40, Peugeot 206 GTi - 16th Overall It was a good rally to marshal. All competitors came into the control with no nonsense and were all cool and no rush. More rallies like this would be good for marshals. Only one competitor gave me his time card upside down. Good rally. Well done Rhyl MC Nigal Jones - Event Marshal
LATEST INFORMATION UPDATES This event will once again use some of the best roads on offer on Maps 116 and 117, with straight forward pre-plot navigation in standard section format. The route will offer again the same format as the very successful 2018 event. It also offers approximately 100 miles of challenging route with one section over 12 miles long. The route will use 100% tarmac roads with the exception of 3 metre controls. We are offering a very compact route with non-competitive road mileage to a minimum. We anticipate that the first car will finish shortly after 04:30am. Hopefully this format will attract more competitors enabling you all to compete and finish this quality event before sunrise. Many marshals will be required for our event, so if you are not entering then please consider coming to help and please encourage friends and fellow club members to assist on what we promise will be a challenge for the competitor. We look forward to welcoming you to the 2019 Rali Gogledd Cymru.
